CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Charlotte County deputies are searching for two people who cut the lock on a storage lot to steal a boat and trailer.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the incident happened at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sep. 22.

The two attempted to steal a 21-foot NauticStar boat and trailer from the storage lot in Cape Haze, according to CCSO.

CCSO said the duo was using a two-tone truck to attempt the theft and fled from the area after a witness approached them.
