COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.– Naples Community Hospital has announced another philanthropic donation to its new Naples Heart Institute.

$1 million was donated to the planned state-of-the-art facility by Michael Wynn and the Wynn Family Foundation during a press conference on Monday morning. 

The cardiac institute will focus on bringing education, more staff, and new facilities to Collier County so patients are not forced to leave their immediate area when needing intensive care. 

“When it comes to heart issues, having a stroke or a heart attack you don’t have those opportunities to leave the area. That’s why it’s so important that we have the physicians and the facilities ready to be able to save someone in an instant,” said Wynn, who is also an NCH board member. 

The heart institute will be built on the NCH’s Baker Hospital Campus. It is pending City approval for construction permits and construction is expected to begin in 2024.
