PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Two people are dead following a fire in a Punta Gorda multi-family home.

The fire took place at 11021 Tamiami Trail at around 7 a.m. Tuesday. 

Charlotte County Fire & EMS confirmed that one victim has been transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

The fire is currently under control and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies are on scene.
