PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Two people and their dog had a close encounter with a fire that spread from the porch of their Punta Gorda home and up to their attic.
According to Charlotte County Public Safety, the fire started around 3 PM on Pepper Road in south Punta Gorda. Crews found fire on the porch, which spread up along the home’s outside wall and into the attic.
Officials said the three occupants were outside and uninjured when crews arrived.
Charlotte County Public Safety said the home is inhabitable until repairs can be made due to the fire in the attic.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
